As the Holy Quran states: "And if they incline to peace, then incline to it also and rely upon Allah. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing." (Al-Anfal: 61), a clear call to pursue peace when there is an inclination for it. Will the Washington talks indeed hold the key to the long-awaited peace and stability in this troubled region, or are they merely a transient stop on an unending road of tensions? And what role do we deem appropriate for the international community in driving this process towards success under such complex circumstances?
